Planning meeting of ANPPCAN Exchange programme
Dated: October 02, 2008
ANPPCAN, early this month, will hold a planning meeting of the FK -ANPPCAN Exchange of Personnel programme. As has been the case in the past, planning meetings have served to set the ground rules, identify needs of the exchanging Chapters and letting the Chapters exchange staff depending on the needs. ANPPCAN has been participating in the Exchange programme since 2002. ANPPCAN enters her seventh phase of the Exchange of personnel programme in 2009. A phase lasts 10 months.
The programme is supported by Fredskorpset (FK) Norway. FK is a Norweigian government body under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that facilitates the exchange of personell between organisations in the North to South and also South to South, thus, bringing people together to exchange skills and knowledge for growth. Since inception of the Exchange in 2002, over 70 staff of ANPPCAN have participated in the programme with remarkable results, including strengthening of weak Chapters in Africa, streamlining communication, exchange and replication of best child protection practices, individual growth of participants themselves, among many other benefits.
The organisation places a lot of importance on planning meetings as they help to replenish and refocus the programme on felt needs, and in so doing, get the participating Chapters work towards achieving the results of the Exchange.
