The National Conference on Foster Care in Kenya
Nairobi will, on 16 - 17 February 2009, host the first National Conference on Foster Care in Kenya. The theme of the Conference is ‘promoting foster care as an alternative protection system for children orphaned by HIV/aids’
A regional conference on child trafficking
Trafficking is a global human rights problem which has attracted international attention as it grossly violates human rights. Information available indicates that the heinous practice seems to target young women and children who seem to be the most vulnerable. This practice exposes the victims to highly abusive and exploitative situations which are not only lethal but also amount to degrading human treatment. Further, its dynamic and adaptable nature frustrates efforts invested to curb it.
Review Meeting of Exchange to be held Early June
A review meeting of the FK Exchange of Personnel programme will be held on 9-10 June 2008 in Nairobi, Kenya. The meeting will be attended by Heads of ANPPCAN Chapters taking part in the programme in the Sixth Phase of the programme. The Chapters include Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Mauritius, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and the Head Office.

The Sixth African Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect whose theme is Early Childhood Development and Education will take place on 4-6 May 2009 at the UN Conference Centre at ECA, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
